Lesson: Introducing One's Self
Today I had the opportunity to observe Mrs. Aulia’s class. Her topic was on “Asking for Personal Information. Before she started, she let the students recall the previous lesson (i.e. Parting). She did this by asking for what the students remember and examples from them. During her lesson, she would practice the students’ word pronunciation by having them repeat after her. I also had the opportunity to share some insights by introducing myself in class using the format the students were using. I was happy to have actual conversations with the students in relation to the lesson (i.e. Asking for Personal Information). She furthers the discussion by showing a Video Clip about making introductions. Mrs. Aulia then ends the lesson with an activity done in pairs. Luckily I was able to join the students’ activity by pairing with some of them.
Word of the Day: Selamat Pagi – Good morning.
Indonesians are early risers since they have to pray at five in the morning every day. Together with them I rise daily and greet the sun, “Selamat pagi!”
