Saturday

Indonesia’s usual temperature is approximately thirty degrees; which is around five degrees hotter than Manila, the capital of the Philippines and ten degrees hotter than my hometown Baguio City. Just like how warm the place is, I could say no less for the warmth of ULM’s welcome. Six people welcomed me, my partner from SLU and another Filipina from BSU at the airport.

The three of us were assigned buddies who will accompany us throughout our journey. The buddy assigned to me is Rabi but it’s good to be buddies with everyone. So meet our company from the airport to University of Lambung Mangkurat. The ride took almost two hours.

Since it was a Saturday, we had the chance to go around the city. We jumped from one place to another, bought things, and tried every food we can.

We met Ben an International Intern from Holland who’s also staying at the men’s dorm.

There’s an Indomart near my dorm and almost in every corner.

The buddies took us to Duta Mall and we had late lunch at restaurant called "Cabemerah" to try a food recommendation from one of the buddies called "Tong Seng".

For dinner, we went to a place called KWK (Kawasan Wisata Kuliner) and had Ayam Kremes. I can eat chicken all day and I literally did.

There are great things here in Indonesia that I think we don’t have in the Philippines.

Check out the next entry to know more.

Word of the Day: Terimakasih – thank you

I feel nothing but a great amount of gratitude for the welcome we had in Indonesia. I’d like to end the day with my deepest thanks. Terimakasih.
